WHAT WE DO AND WHY

GreenFuture Sustainable Initiative Zambia is a well organized and structured NGO promoting climate change awareness, personal and environmental hygiene and girl-child empowering movements . All our programs and activities are dictated by the organization's core objective to build a climate change resilient society, with health hygiene practices and a more favorable space for girl-child empowerment. 

PROGRAM AND ACTIVITIES

As stated earlier, all programs and activities are centered around our core objectives;

• Climate change awareness campaigning.

• Health and Hygiene education campaigning.

• Girl-child empowering movement.

CLIMATE CHANGE AWARENESS

GreenFuture sustainable initiative Zambia is committed to building a society that is well knowledgeable and deeply involved in the mitigating of climate change. We have run a number of activities from our climate change awareness program. The minimal yet noticeable positive impact of our efforts so far is a huge encouragement and source of motivation to stay consistent with our programs. 

CLIMATE CHANGE AWARENESS PROGRAMS:

• Community Awareness Campaigns: Educate households, schools, and public centers about climate change, its impact and the adaption strategies used to mitigate the change.

• Promote Sustainable Practices: Encourage tree planting, proper waste handling before disposal, and renewable energy adoption in communities.

• Support Climate Resilient Livelihoods: Train families in sustainable agriculture and water conservation methods.

• Youth Engagement: Involve girls and young people in climate change clubs, innovation challenges, and advocacy platforms.

• Climate Change Stewards: Training and mentoring youths and others who subscribe for the Climate Change Stewardship program. Where they will become advocates to the locals.

• Community-Based Climate Adaptation Projects: Implementing sustainable initiatives for strategic adaptation to climate change.

  Water security; Installing solar-powered water networks and resilient infrastructure to ensure reliable water access for both drinking and agriculture.

  Livelihood protection; Champion ecological restoration through initiatives like Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) and promote sustainable farming methods (e.g Cover cropping) to safeguard food security against unpredictable weather patterns.

  Knowledge transfer; Establish training programs for local leaders and youth to share expertise in climate change management, building capacity for local adaption and contributing to Zambia's national resilience strategy.

HEALTH AND HYGIENE EDUCATION

GreenFuture Sustainable Initiative Zambia is dedicated to the well-being of the people and their health habits. Therefore we run a number of programs to facilitate and educate communities about good health and hygiene practices that help prevent some diseases that occasionally dread the communities. 

HEALTH AND HYGIENE EDUCATION PROGRAMS:

• Improve Sanitation Facilities: Building and maintaining clean handwashing stations in schools and communities. 

• Ensure Well Managed Toilets: Build and properly maintaining toilets in schools, and communities.

• Menstrual Hygiene Management: Provide sanitary products, education and a safe space for young girls to open up and receive the healthy and hygienic support they need. 

• Health Education Programs: Raising awareness by educating the benefits of good health and hygiene practices and how they prevent diseases like cholera and malaria. 

• Partnerships for Clean Water: Collaborating with local authorities and donors for ensure reliable access to safe drinking water for vulnerable communities. 

• Integrating Frameworks: Through our partnerships with local authorities, schools and communities. It is part of program to make our activities easy to integrate with the existing frameworks of the people making our activities convenient and impactful to the society.

GIRL CHILD EMPOWERMENT

GreenFuture Sustainable Initiative Zambia is devoted to empowering of the girl child, bringing out her full potential, and making her dreams come true. With our girl child empowerment programs, the future of a girl child looks greener and brighter. We provide a sandbox-like environment for a girl child's growth. We ensure that she receives the necessary tools, and training needed to horn her skills and unleash her potential. 

GIRL CHILD EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS:

• Increase Access to Education: Provide scholarships, school supplies, and mentorship programs for girls from vulnerable communities.

• Promote Gender Equity in Schools: Advocating for policies and opportunities that encourage participation of girls. 

• Campaigning the Value and Importance of Educating a Girl Child: Communicating the benefits of educating a girl child. Doing this through reasoning with local leaders and family elders, hosting workshops to properly teach the matter, and holding community gathering campaigns to create awareness of the matter. 

• Fight Society Limitation Imposed On Girls: GreenFuture helps girls fully exercise their right of education, expression and leadership. Privileges that had been exclusive to boys and men for so long that even when the state had made them available for girls and women, some societies still held on to them, calling them 'social norms'. We advocate against those limiting norms and hinderances like early marriages, cultural biases and financial constraints.

• Enhance learning Environment: Support safe, inclusive, girl-friendly classrooms with adequate facilities. 

• Empower Through Skills Training: Introducing vocational and digital literacy programs to prepare girls for future opportunities.

• Girl Child Hygiene Programs: We provide a safe space for a girl child's menstrual hygiene management, supporting her with the sanitary products and hygienic education necessary. 

• Girl Child Mentorship program: GreenFuture provides a girl child mentorship program to groom and nurture young girls into bona fide leaders fit to hold high positions in society. Our three part mentorship program highlights the process.

  Awareness; The girls are exposed and made aware of their own potential and great opportunities that await them when they utilize their abilities and reach for the many great possibilities that lay beyond the social norms. 

  Education; The girls are taught, trained and equipped with the skills and necessary resources for their growth. 

  Mentorship; The girls are now coached and mentored by experienced women that do not only have knowledge and skills but they have also gained the wisdom of knowing when and how to wisely utilize and apply their knowledge and skills.
